Our riverfront farm in southern Vermont is fortunate to have well-drained sandy soils filled with organic materials and important trace minerals deposited by the melting of Lake Hitchcock 15,000 years ago. Over more than five decades here, our farming methods have always highlighted sustainable practices with the addition of natural soil supplements. Over the years, worms have assisted us in aerating and improving our soils.

Cannabis has always been one of the crops grown here and our growing, curing and processing skills have increased over the decades. Famous grower SOMA (Soma’s Sacred Seeds) grew some of his earliest plants here in 1972. Our Vermont Afghani, clandestinely grown here in 1975, was photographed and featured in High Times magazine in 1977 as America’s Best New Strain.

Quality over quantity has always been our mantra and the subsequent forty years allowed us to experiment in perfecting the best strains and phenotypes for our unique Vermont micro-climate and soil characteristics. We continue to experiment with each successive crop.

The last few years our mission has evolved to identify and grow the very best strains to wash for our choice hash. We seek out strains with the largest heads and unique terpene profiles to provide products for our customers with differing tastes. We strive for perfection and extreme quality for our customers. We also take care in selecting flower strains that grow well in our fields, are flavorful and blend well with our hashes to create the best infused products on the market. All are as pure as can be achieved to satisfy the discriminating tastes of our Vermont customers.

At Green Mountain Boys we cultivate plants that are well-suited to the local environment and take care to harvest them at their optimal time. We cure or freeze-dry them to preserve all flavors and terpenes. We extract them with RO filtered deep-well water under laboratory conditions to maintain this quality and distribute the product to select dispensaries around the state.
